Tony's Pies Since 1984

Our story

Two ovens. Forty years. The same family.

In 1984 two things happened in Essendon: the Bombers won their first of back-to-back premierships, and Tony opened a three-person bakery at 309 Buckley Street.

What began as a small three-person bakery on Buckley Street has grown into a thriving retail business: fresh pies, pasties, quiche, donuts and our famous french vanilla slices, served from the oven from 6am Monday to Saturday.

Alongside the pies and sausage rolls, we make family-size pies, quiche, sandwiches and rolls to order from our sandwich bar — and we'll always have hot coffee on for you.

What's kept us going

We put it down to two things:

  1. Our dedication to producing first-rate products using only the freshest ingredients, delivered daily.
  2. Friendly staff — who care as much about our customers as they do about our products.

A second home, since 1996

In 1996 we opened our second shop at 341 Somerville Road, Kingsville — opposite Hungry Jack's. Same recipes, same family, freshly baked every morning.
